It's amazing you had a chance to overhear such an interesting dialogue. ;) I think it's more fun when you only hear part of it and you keep guessing the rest. Thanks for sharing it with your readers. Cheers! Claudia www.claudiadelbalso.blogspot.com
The bath is my favourite place to read a book. My mother says you can always tell a book that I've read because of the damage from the steam to the pages.

But what was the book? I want to read it now - just so I CAN read it in the bath!
I wasn't near enough to catch sight of it! We'll just have to speculate.
LOL!!!!
I too am wondering what book it was! :-)
Libraries ROCK!
Take care

It could have an anti-divination book! Or maybe it was about incontinence.
Bazza, I must admit I hadn't thought of the latter!
Hahaha! It is 'Jaws'?
Love this!
LOL! How fantastic. These kinds of quotes are the best.
Makes the mind boggle doesn't it?

It sounds wonderful! Jaws, yes LOL! or Moby Dick perhaps?
How intriguing. Can you go back and ask the Librarian? ;O)

I agree with Madeleine - any chance you can ask the librarian, please? :-)

Maybe the borrower has a history of dunking books?
Ah yes, we've had water-swollen books brought back before, usually accompanied by a sheepish grin!
