Rosalie's signing and my latest.

Firstly, if you are in the Coventry area this Saturday (May 21st) Rosalie Warren would love you to pop into her signing session for 'Coping with Chloe'. Rosalie was a guest on this blog in March. Between 10.30a.m. and 12.30p.m. on Saturday she will be in Waterstones, Smithford Way, Lower Precinct, Coventry.

Secondly, '100 Stories for Queensland' is now available to order in print form through Amazon. Please click the image on the right sidebar for further details.

Thirdly, I have a story 'Her Pride and Joy' in the new issue of The Weekly News. That's the one with a cover date of May 21st. I only heard on Tuesday that they wanted to use the story, and today I bought it from the newsagent's. That's a quick turnaround! It's the first story I've had in there, but I've been familiar with this particular publication since childhood. My grandparents used to buy The Weekly News and pass their copy on to us. I wish I could tell them I finally made it into the short story pages. I think they'd be glad.

Congratulations on the story in the news. I wish I had access to it. It sounds like you are getting a lot of good writing done.

Hi Joanne,
You bet they'd be proud as punch. Well done. It's always good to have a story somewhere new. Will try and get hold of one tomorrow and have a read. Once you've had one accepted, I presume it would be easier to get another one, as the editor would recognise your name.

Well done. I think I'd assume that your grandparents are looking down on you and are fully aware that you've made it into the News.

Read your lovely story this afternoon, Joanne - and I thought it was terrific.

I know what you mean about wanting to tell your grandparents. I feel the same way about The People's Friend. My grandmother bought it every week and she'd have been happier than anyone to know they've published some of my stories.

Congratulations, Joanne - that is indeed a fast turnaround! It is lovely that your grandparents used to read it - my dad did too! I'll see if I can get a copy :-)

My grandma used to buy the Weekly News, and I was thrilled when they bought a story from me, which was in an April issue. Jill only let me know the day before!

Congratulations on yours, I'll look forward to reading it :o)

Very well done on The Weekly News story, Joanne! That's the quickest I've heard between someone being told and being published!

Not near Coventry but I wish Rosalie all the best.

Good Lord! Is The Weekly News still going?
Well, obviously it is. It must be a temendous thrill to have your work published. Congratulations.
I have a friend who works for Mills and Boon if you need an intro!
Apparently they have ten different imprint categories these days including a 'saucy'one. The spines are colour-coded (he says).

Congratulations, Joanne!
To see it published so quickly too, I'll look out for it, hopefully they'll still have one at my local newsagent.

Dream it, then do it said...

Just been straight out and bought it this morning, Joanne. Nice one. Congratulations.

Thanks again everyone for your lovely comments.

Bazza - I know M&B are hugely popular, but romance ain't really my thing!
