My Loved One has just informed me there is a Test Match starting today. Oh joy! (For those of you who don't know me, I am being ironic here.) I know I can hardly complain about cricket, when I've been watching T.V. coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show the whole week. A few days ago a lady was telling about all the places she dreamed of visiting when she was young. The Taj Mahal. The Grand Canyon. The Great Wall of China. In her eighties now, she knows she will never see any of them. "Don't put things off," she said. "Whatever you want to do, get on and do it!" Sound advice. And as a result I have decided to go to Chelsea in person next year, instead of sitting on my sofa, wishing I was there.
Whatever you are up to, seize the day.

Oh that would be such a great thing to do! I mean I do like watching it on telly too but I remember going about oooh a few years ago now and thoroughly enjoying myself - I think I even bought a plant or two.. gosh it was such a long time ago!
Good luck with getting the tickets. And yes, serious sports season is upon us! I hope there's Springwatch too! :-)

Visiting England a few years ago was one of the things I won't have to regret not doing. (Wow, that was an awkward sentence.) My "to do" list is long, but I'm chipping away at it. I'm glad you are too.

There is definitely no time available for putting things off. I'll see the Grand Canyon at last this summer, but I have a hundred more things left on the list, one of which is to play Moonlight Sonata as well as my daughter. My version sounds more like some kind of funeral march played by a short-sighted chimpanzee. With one hand tied behind his back.
Oh Joanna, I am sure it's not that bad! I started learning a couple of years ago, but then the writing took over even more of my life and I'm struggling to get back into the discipline of piano practice again.
Yes, it's often a struggle for me between piano and writing. But writing always wins.
Hi Joanne. I'm off to the Test Match today (Sunday) with my son-in-laws Dad through tickets bought as early Father's Day presents for us from my daughter, Laura. Joy indeed!
It's a very civilized way to spend a sunny Sunday; eating, drinking, sun-bathing and even watching some cricket.
I am not putting off enjoying myself (I also watch the Chelsea Flower Show).
