Wednesday's words

Gosh - where did that week go? It's time to post my entry for this week's microfiction challenge on Diving in the Word Pool. This week's words of inspiration were: countryside, rose, and sunshine. So here is my attempt in the 33 words allowed. I'm not sure if it qualifies as a story but I tried to make it suitably seasonal...

Rose snored in the sunshine.

"Bet she's dreaming of chasing rabbits in the countryside," Amanda said.

Rose, though, was a city dog, dreaming city dreams. What were rabbits compared with postmen? In shorts!

Love the twist into the dog's view of a good life! A clever piece!

Witty microfiction! I'm positive, postmen are on top of the list. LOL

Have a wonderful day.

I love it. And I also love seeing our postman in his shorts.

Ha ha! How funny is that? (Very!)
I wonder how these exercises would work if all the words were unrelated. Say, for example, 'grapefruit', 'submarine' and 'walking-stick'?

Thanks everyone.

Bazza, you should do the grapefruit, submarine, walking stick one! I'm sure it's only a question of lateral thinking.

Hahaha! So true. Postmen are much more fun!

Loved this, Joanne.
