An autumn sniffle

Don't you hate it when you have a few days off work, only to feel yourself going down with a cold the moment your freedom begins? I love September, but my Loved One has generously shared the first of his autumn sniffles with me. Luckily I don't have anything too urgent I have to do. I just about have enough energy to noodle around on Farmville and browse eBay for Shelley plates!

Anyway, I did have a short story published in the September issue of small press magazine Delivered. I just wish I felt up to starting something new. I think I'll go and get a hot water bottle to stuff down my jumper.

Just turned the furnace on here. Our record breaking summer has been replaced with damp, chilly fall weather.

Thanks for reminding me to purchase a hot water bottle. I remember how good it felt to hug one with blankets snugly wrapped ...

Congrats on yet another publication.

Congratulations with your story!! Well done you!!! Yay!!!

Oh you know this month has been the worst, the absolute worst for virus attacks!! I've decided to get a flu shot from Boots this year - I've had enough, it's so draining!!

I hope you and your loved one rest and take things easy and have tons of herb tea and honey!

All the best

Old Kitty, sounds like we are starting early with our winter viruses. Take it easy yourself. Hope you feel better soon.

Congratulations! What a shame about the cold. I can empathise. I had one on holiday once and I struggled through the first few days, then when hubby caught it we packed up and came home. Huh, he had absolutely no stamina! LOL!

Congratulations on getting your story published.
I hope you're feeling better soon, its no fun when you've planned a break. Keep warm, and double dose the vitamin C...

Congratulations for the publication and make sure you look after yourself!

We keep circulating colds around the family. I think it's my turn next! We don't have a hot water bottle, but when I was a child, my mother would tuck one in my bed if I was poorly. I think I will invest in one for each of us, as it was always a comforting surprise to find it at my feet.

Congratulations on the publication!

You poor thing. Why do people get ill so often when they have time off? You take it easy. Lots of putting feet up, lemsips, and reading prescribed.

I just took a look at the Delivered site.
Seems like a great idea; is your work in the current edition?
I took a day off work a few weeks ago for a family Monday wedding. On the Saturday I must have twisted my ankle on a guided walk through a local forest. I spent the whole of the day off in casualty getting x-rayed etc. Missed the whole wedding so I know how you must feel! Get well soon.

Thank you all. I am much better today after a couple of days sleeping.

Bazza yes it is the current edition , title 'Daisies for Breakfast' - I should have said that in the original post but I was obviously under the weather and forgot!

Helen, Delivered is similar to Scribble. There is a chance to win a prize if readers vote for your story (though the prizes are not as big as Scribble's).
